Not only is Cody a smartie pants, but he's a stud muffin jock too! He received a letter in the mail while he was in combat training letting him know that he's been recognized as a U.S. Masters Swimming All American for 2008. What exactly does that mean you ask? Well, he swam the fastest time in the 100 fly and 200 fly in his age group (30-34) during the 2008 season. The statement in their letter was, "While other athletes talk about being number one, you ARE!" Okay, a little on the cheesy side but whatever. Anyway, he's listed on the USMS website as an All American -- check it out here! Here's a picture from the 2008 YMCA National Meet in Ft Lauderdale where he swam both of his fastest times.
We're headed down to Florida in a week and a half for the 2009 YMCA Nationals...unfortunately, the three week combat training messed up Cody's taper so he's not expecting to do as well this year. But it doesn't matter -- he's number one to Riley and I no matter what!

That's awesome! Way to go, Cody, or I guess I should say Dr. Rasmussen! Although it stinks that he's preparing to deploy, these are good times for you guys!
