We had our first taste of summer this weekend in Ohio with temps in the high 70's/low 80's on Friday, Saturday and Sunday! We took advantage of the awesome weather and took Jace and Riley to the Columbus Zoo.
Jace had a great time running from exhibit to exhibit (I don't think he walked the entire time!). Since Sarah has a zoo pass for the year, Jace has been to the zoo a lot and led us to the animals he wanted to see...we also stayed away from the animals he doesn't like -- for example, the Lilas (gorillas in Jace language) and the Komodo Dragon. Jace was hilarious running around in his t-shirt that looks like a cop uniform...a couple of kids said, "Oh no, a cop is after us...run!" That prompted Jace to start chasing after them...I thought for sure Jace was going to trip over his own feet but actually the little girl he was chasing was the one who went down like a ton of bricks and scraped her face. Jace just kept running after the little boy while Aunt Meghan apologized profusely to the little girl's mom. Ooops :)
Riley was perfectly content taking a nap in his stroller and missed most of the animals. I think by this time next year he'll be a little more interested in what was causing the delicious aroma wafting through the air!
We had a fun time laying around outside this weekend too since the weather was so incredible. Riley decided the Boppy was his little hammock and took a relaxing nap under the clear blue sky!
This was the first time Riley's feet were exposed and Jace loved playing with Riley's little feet...it was super cute!
I really hope this weather lasts because it was a fun weekend playing in the sun!
