The BIG Snow!!!

We got about a foot of snow this weekend which meant all of our weekend plans were shot and we were socked in. In order to avoid going stir crazy, we took Riley outside to check out the white stuff.

At this point he resembles Randy from A Christmas Story -- if Riley could talk, he would have told me, "Mooooom, I can't put my arms down!"
It wasn't too deep close to the house...it was only up to Riley's knees. Farther out in the yard, it was up to Riley's armpits!

Riley was content hanging out on the deck where he could walk around a little bit.
Sneaky Scarlet walked by and snuck a lick because Riley had a little bit of snow on his face.

You can really see how deep the snow is after Cody finished shoveling half the driveway.

Riley walked down the driveway a bit, slipped on the ice and fell on his face...he was ready to go inside after that!
A little later our friend, Nick, stopped by with some sleds. Cody had finished shoveling the driveway but there was just enough ice to slide down the slow incline.

Riley seemed to like it!

We're probably going to be absolutely stir crazy by tomorrow afternoon so there will most likely be some more sledding tomorrow. Of course this big snow storm happens over the weekend when we have plans and things to do!
