More From Tybee

The big hit with the boys while we were on vacation was a tent shaped like a shark I bought at Target before we left. I knew we would need a few new toys for the condo to keep the boys occupied and this one was a winner! It kept them occupied for hours!

Another big hit -- squirt guns! Here's Jace and Aunt Trish during one of many water fights...
We also took them down to the beach and the boys had a good time chasing each other around.
We took the boys to the Savannah Wildlife Sanctuary which they both loved...Jace's favorite animal that day was definitely the pelicans.
I think Riley liked the wolves the best.
Riley saying his signature, "Whoa!" when he saw the huge bison.
We got a bird's eye view from the platform then walked down to the bottom to see them at eye level.
Riley and Jace checking out the gators!

We went to the beach at least twice a day -- in the morning and in the evening. Sometimes we went even more often depending on what was going on that day! The boys loved it...both the old and young boys!
Riley and Jace enjoyed laying in the shallow waves on the beach as they rolled in.
Jason took Jace into the deeper waves and Jace seemed to enjoy that too except for the water in the eyes. He would run back up to the beach saying, "Eyes! Eyes!" and I would give him the corner of my shirt to wipe the salt water out. Then he would run back into the water for more!
This was the typical scene at the beach...Jace running all over the place and Riley trying to keep up with his older cousin!
Riley was mesmerized by the rats with wings...I mean, seagulls.

Riley was spoiled rotten by Nannie...every morning Nannie would wake up at the crack of dawn with Riley and take him down to the beach. Just Riley and his Nannie. Nannie would let Riley do whatever he wanted which usually entailed chasing the seagulls all the way down to the pier. Then they would head over to the Sunrise Cafe for some pancakes...Riley was in heaven! By the time they got back to the condo, Mommy and Daddy were awake and ready for the morning activity!

Some of our morning activities included checking out some of the history on Tybee...this is Fort Jackson. We saw a live cannon fire that day...it was super loud!

Then after nap and snacktime, it was more beachtime! Riley really liked the water soakers...he would throw it, then chase it.

He would keep going and going until we made him turn around -- boy, is that kid persistent!

Riley and Jace went to the Crab House to feed the alligators. The Crab House is a restaurant and they have an exhibit of alligators. You go to the bartender to get "alligator treats" and they have fishing poles you can lower the treats down to the gators. The boys loved it! Don't worry, the gator below is on a leash...Riley just wanted to pet the lil' guy.

Me, Cody and Johnnie had an opportunity to go parasailing...Johnnie and I went up first.
We went up 400 feet!

Cody went with a random kid who was too light to ride with his brother...
A squall line rolled in so they didn't get their 15 minutes worth...it was too unstable. Unfortunately since it was our last day, we didn't have a chance to reschedule.

Off to the beach the last day...

Riley hitching a ride with Aunt Johnnie on the walk back from the beach.

The long drive home was uneventful...the boys enjoyed watching DVDs and I even caught them holding hands!
We stopped for lunch at McDonald's so the kids could get some energy out on the playground.

It was a great summer vacation with lots of pictures and memories to last a lifetime!
